Mox Bank, CMB Wing Lung Bank warns of fake websites
Both banks have reported the incidences to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
Two Hong Kong banks– digital lender Mox and CMB Wing Lung– have warned against suspicious and fraudulent websites on 6 March.
In a statement, Mox Bank said that it has no relation to suspicious websites using the domain names ‘moxgroup [dot] cc’ and ‘moxgroup [dot] top.’
“Our official (and only) website is mox.com and all Mox Bank transactions are conducted only via the Mox app,” the digital-only lender said.
In a separate press release, CMB Wing Lung Bank warned against two fraudulent web pages that claim to provide a URL to download the bank’s CMBWLB Custody mobile app.
The two webpages are:
- www [dot] dancihu [dot] com/app/62053.html
- https://m [dot] dancihu [dot] com/app/62053.html
“The bank hereby declares that the bank does not have any connection with those two fraudulent webpages with mobile applications. And those mobile applications are not established by the bank,” CMB Wing Lung Bank said in a statement.
“Please do not click the said URL for download and installation,” the bank added.
