Bank of East Asia to set up a fully-licensed securities company

It's in partnership with Qianhai Financial Holdings.

The Bank of East Asia, Limited recently announced that it has entered into an agreement with Shenzhen Qianhai Financial Holdings Co., Ltd. on the establishment of a fully-licensed joint venture securities company in the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone. The Joint Venture will commence operations as soon as it has obtained final approval from the regulatory authorities.

The Joint Venture is established within the framework of liberalisation measures introduced in Supplement X of the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement. The Bank will soon submit its application to register the Joint Venture in Qianhai. Upon approval, the Joint Venture will engage in providing a full range of investment banking and securities businesses in China.
