Bank Islam extends pawn broking business
Bank Islam opened another Ar-Rahnu Islamic pawn broking branch in Pasir Mas, Kelantan.
The Ar-Rahnu branches currently operate in Pasir Puteh and Kota Bharu and the services will be widened to other towns in Terengganu, Pahang, Perlis and the central region soon, said a Bank Islam statement.
Managing Director Datuk Seri Zukri Samat said that the move was in tandem with the bank's mission to extend the Ar-Rahnu operations nationwide.
He said two Ar-Rahnu branches, one each in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, and Klang, Selangor, would open in the second half of the year, bringing the total number of Ar-Rahnu branches to five by year-end.
