There are a total of 28,451 ATM as of end-April which represents an increase of 1,126 from the previous year as the proliferation of convenience stores also came with a larger number of machines to easily dispense cash.

Residents used the machines 300 million times this year until April for transactions totaling $128b (NT$3.92t).

In a breakdown, CTBC Bank had a total of 5,680 ATMs in circulation which is the highest amongst its peers which may have been brought about by its close alliance with convenience store chain 7-Eleven.

Cathay United Bank came in second with almost 3,800 ATMs, Chunghwa Post snagged third place with 3,206 of the machines, and Taishin International Bank scored fourth place with 3,180 machines.
