Thailand’s central bank appoints new assistant governors

The four individuals promoted were previously senior directors for different teams.

The Bank of Thailand (BOT) has named four new assistant governors based on decisions made by its board of directors.

Effective 1 October, Sakkapop Panyanukul is promoted to assistant governor of the Monetary Policy Group. He was previously the senior director for the Financial Markets Department.

Budsakorn Teerapunyachai is also being promoted to assistant governor, this time in charge of Payment Infrastructure. She is currently a senior director for the Payment and Bond Department.

Somruedee Rungsiyaphornratana, who is currently a senior director for the Finance and Accounting Department, will be promoted to assistant governor in charge of Corporate Strategy and Resource Planning beginning 1 October.

Finally, Mathinee Subhaswadikul, senior director, Internal Audit Department, will assume the position of assistant governor for the Internal Audit Group beginning October.

Earlier in 2024, the BOT has announced the rotation and appointment of three individuals to senior roles, also effective 1 October.
