Revolving credit on Taiwan credit cards dips in July

This is despite the total active cards rising to 38.36 million.

The total revolving credit held by Taiwan-issued credit cards was NT$110.4b as of July 2024, according to official data released by the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

This is a slight decline from the NT$110.8b in total revolving credit recorded in June.

This is despite the number of total active cards rising to 38.36 million during the month, compared to 38.24 million in June.

As of July, the 32-credit card issuing institutions in Taiwan have a total of 58.58 million effective cards.

Monthly write-offs were approximately NT$0.64b for July.

Average ratio of delinquency credit– past-due for over three months– against account receivables was 0.26%, a 0.3 percentage point increase from the 0.23% the previous month.

Meanwhile, cash card loans were NT$10.6b by the end of July, rising slightly from NT$10.5b in end-June.

A total of 0.29 million cash cards were effective as of July.

Monthly write-off of cash cards was NT$15m versus NT$29m for June, whilst overall delinquency ratio was 1.431%.
