BRImo superapp offers digital account opening for Bank Raya
The gig economy-focused digital bank now has over 700,000 users.
Indonesian banking customers can now register for a digital-only bank account in Bank Raya through the super app BRImo.
BRImo’s 18 million users will be able to access the signup portal through its in-app menu, adding to the over 100 features it already offers–from payment options for water and utilities, to top-ups for various e-wallets, mobile data packages, QR code payments, and even making donations.
This makes it easier for customers to open savings accounts without having to visit a branch office, according to Bank Raya CEO Kaspar Situmorang.
“By opening a Raya digital savings account that already uses eKYC technology, customers can save without a minimum balance, free of administration fees, and can enjoy competitive interest rates,” Situmorang said.

Bank Raya will continue to focus on customers in the gig economy, as well as freelancers and informal workers, he added.
“This collaboration is an essential step for Bank Raya to attract customers by tapping into BRI's extensive network through BRImo,” Situmorang said.
To date, more than 700,000 digital accounts have been opened with Bank Raya. It is a subsidiary of Bank Rakyat Indonesia.
