The Bank of East Asia builds data lakehouse for predicting trends, better CX
BEA will deploy a range of data analytics solutions from Google Cloud.
The Bank of East Asia (BEA) has built Metabase, a data lakehouse, to help predict trends and create more personalized customer experiences.
Built on Google Cloud, Metabase will deploy a range of data analytics solutions from Google to make employees’ use of data as efficient as possible.
A data lake house is a data architecture that blends data lakes– which contain raw data that are unstructured and unrefined, with purpose not yet set – and data warehouses– which stores data that have been processed and refined. Data lakehouses, in particular, enable machine learning, business intelligence, and predictive analytics, allowing organizations to leverage low-cost, flexible storage for all types of data whilst providing data structures and data management features, Google Cloud said in its website.

BEA in particular used Google Cloud’s BigQuery and Dataflow to consolidate data. BEA also deployed Cloud Composer to render numerous types of data from different business functions in a consistent and well-governed format.
BEA will also leverage AI capabilities within Google Cloud’s secure environment. In particular, BEA will tap on Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Security Command Center capabilities to maintain a comprehensive 24/7 view of data transactions and possible threats, whilst also minimizing cyber risks with the Google Cloud Platform’s access control and encryption features.
